Levels

There are literally thousands of levels to the Backrooms, but very little is known about most of them. I will not try to cover all the levels here, (that’s what the Wikis are for). Instead I will just focus on the better-known levels, about which more information and photos exists.

Level 0 – The Lobby

The stink of moist carpet, the mono-yellow, the hum-buzz of fluorescent lighting, this is the most commonly seen level of The Backrooms, as most unwitting Backrooms’ travelers land here.

Level 1 – Habitable zone

A massive warehouse with concrete floors and walls, exposed rebar, dim fluorescent lights placed on the walls and a low-hanging fog with no discernible source.

Level 2 – Pipe Dreams

A set of long, straight maintenance tunnels accompanied by pipes and vents on the walls, spanning large distances, with turns and intersections being incredibly rare.

Level 3 – Electrical Station

An expansive of narrow corridors and electrical machinery, similar to Level 2, but better maintained and with more electrical machinery. Many believe that the whole Backrooms is powered by Level 3.

Level 4 – Abandoned Office

An empty office building, devoid of furniture except the occasional water fountain or abandoned chair. Level 4 also has vending machines containing snack bars and almond water.

Level 188 – The Windows

Based on a real location, a Holiday Inn hotel in London, England, the Backrooms level 188 is a class 5 dangerous level home to The Window entity. Approach these windows with extreme caution!
